The Feldenkrais Method® brings us closer to realising our full human potential. It can permanently improve our posture, balance and coordination both physically and mentally. It can awaken our innate capacity for life-long vitality and continuing self-development.
The Method teaches, through movement, how we can improve our capabilities to function in our daily lives. It focuses on the relationship between movement and thought, increased mental awareness and creativity, which then accompany physical improvements.
In Awareness Through Movement lessons we engage in precisely structured movement explorations that involve thinking, sensing, moving, and imagining. The lessons consist of verbally directed movement sequences, which are comfortable and easy and which gradually evolve into movements of greater range and complexity. Through the learning process you will be able to find new ways of moving while increasing sensitivity and improving efficiency.
Merav Israel is a qualified teacher of The Feldenkrais Method. She has been studying and teaching movement for 20 years with a strong somatic approach. Her background is in movement studies, dance, improvisation and performance.
